The HR Associate is the entry level position in the HR Department. The purpose of this position is to assist on various projects in the HR department to meet critical deadlines with activities that increase the overall effectiveness of the HR processes. This position will be responsible for the on-boarding, new hire set ups, new hire, extended orientations and handling the logistics of employment verifications, HR reports, and assist with special projects as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
Organize the Onboarding process including planning and execution of extended orientation.
Work with manager on the implementation of the Performance Review System.
Coordinate logistics for HR training and development needs and assist with the implementation and coordination on the Learning Management site.
Serve as point of contact and responsible for facilitation and coordination of special HR projects (HR Events, Reporting, HR Intranet)
Provide quality control of data and HR records – current and archived (electronic and physical)
Assists as needed in recruitment support- job postings, schedule interviews, conduct references and attend job fairs.
Work on special HR projects and assist with research of information as necessary.
Coordinate logistics for HR events, employee communications and produce material for newsletter and other Human Resource communication.
Work on HR Information systems, assist with annual, internal HR audits.
Process employment related requested information.
Other Operations, Compensation, Benefits and HRIS duties as assigned.
POSITION SCOPE: Provides the support necessary for the team to achieve its goals. Job duties are fairly straight forward and require following common procedures and guidelines. Manages own workload, time and priorities, with general guidance from supervisor.
DECISION MAKING/PROBLEM SOLVING: Has the knowledge and skills to identify solutions to routine problems. Produces useful ideas or explanations for circumstances, but may need guidance on execution for results. Understands and applies policies and proactively suggests solutions/improvements on issues.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY: Processes routine transaction in compliance with IFES procedures.
RELATIONSHIPS: Maintains working relationship with team members and other staff within the Division. Initiates contact with staff in other departments to exchange detailed, substantive information and coordinates activities necessary to achieve work goals. Actively participates in HR team building

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administrations, Communication or related field
Experience: 0 - 2 years’ relevant experience in Human Resources. Experience or internship in an NGO a plus. Experience working within an international environment and handling international HR programs a plus. Experience with HRIS systems and ATS systems preferred.
Related Skills or Knowledge: Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Detailed oriented and organized. Ability to prioritize, take direction, and handle varied tasks within deadlines. Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. Collaborative, team oriented individual
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English required.
TRAVEL: Limited.
