Project Description:

The Consortium for Elections and Political Party Strengthening (CEPPS) is implementing the USAID funded Global Elections and Political Transitions (GEPT) program. Consortium partners are the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and the International Republican Institute (IRI). The CEPPS partners successfully entered historical data for EPT projects in the EPT Indicators Database for core EPT indicators only. Partners are currently compiling and entering data for custom indicators for a pilot project in the database. Given the complex level of data disaggregation, huge volume of quantitative and qualitative data collection, large number of EPT projects, and most importantly time limitations, the CEPPS leadership approved hiring of an intern for each CEPPS partner who will provide 100% support only to database related activities such as data collection, quality check, and entry in the database. only to database related activities such as data collection, quality check, and entry in the database. Job Responsibilities:

1. * Work with the relevant program teams to collect and populate database with realistic, reliable, and timely historical data.
   • 1. Work under direction of the CEPPS Partners Lead Database Point Persons to continuously check quality of data in the database for completeness, relevance, timeliness, and other standards in accordance to the specifications of indicators described in the performance indicators reference sheets (PIRS).
   • 1. Meet monthly data entry deadlines effectively, ensure that data is collected, checked and ready for data entry through proactive follow up with field teams before the deadline looms.
   • 1. Provide timely support to relevant program teams in addressing database issues or requests to allow smooth maintenance of the database.
   • 1. Identify and report to the CEPPS Partners Lead Database Point Persons gaps in skills and knowledge of program teams related to data collection, database maintenance and data quality.
   • 1. Attend all EPT database training events to understand skills of data entry into EPT Indicators Database including data quality standards, disaggregation requirements, reporting period, running reports and maintaining the database with up to date data.
   • 1. Provide attention to details to achieve thoroughness and accuracy in data entry in the database.
   • Any other activity related to data entry, documentation, and/or provide refresher orientation to new comers as and when requested Qualifications:
2. * Must be currently in undergraduate or graduate program or a recent graduate
   • 1. Can produce results in fast paced work environment within deadlines
   • 1. Has good typing speed in English
   • 1. Can work regular office hours
   • 1. Experience with Excel
   • 1. Interest in databases, data processes, international development, democracy and governance or related.
   • 1. Familiarity with databases is preferred, but not required
   • 1. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation is preferred, but not required
   • Familiarity with international development is preferred, but not required
