IFES seeks an Operations Coordinator tol provide office administrative and operation support to the IFES-Ethiopia field office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides junior level management support and backstopping to the Country Director in the IFES Ethiopia Office.
  • Assists with the management of administrative operations of the Ethiopia Office.
  • Oversees the Ethiopia Office’s generation of programmatic reports.
  • Assists the Country Director with the development of strategic documents such as work plans and ensures that the Ethiopia office is capturing the needed data for its M&E Plan.
  • Works with the Country Director to leverage existing funds to expand the project’s work on information productions, training and other special events.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, international affairs, communications or related required.
  • 2 years’ experience working with international NGOs.
  • Working level proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Professional field experience, particularly in Africa, is a plus.
  • Introductory experience in proposal development required.
  • Some experience in program management and supervisory roles (e.g., interns).
  • Familiarity with USAID regulations and reporting requirements required.
  • Experience with research and development initiatives.
  • The ability to remain organized while handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines;
  • Ability to complete tasks with supervision;
  • Excellent communication skills in order to be able to work with IFES program and administrative staff to identify and resolve issues.
  • Willingness to adhere to all principles of confidentiality.
  • Must value operating in a collaborative and cooperative environment.
  • Ability to show initiative, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to represent IFES at professional and governmental levels.**Language Skills:** Fluency in English is required.
