About the project

IFES is currently implementing a capacity-building program in support of Kenya’s electoral process in the areas of Voter Education, conflict mitigation and sustainability of Election Technology, among others.

Position Summary

IFES Kenya seeks to recruit a Voter Education Coordinator; he/she will provide administrative and programmatic support for the voter outreach components of the Kenya Electoral Assistance Program. In particular, the Voter Education Coordinator will support the digital and on the ground voter outreach campaigns.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Track all incoming approval and government approvals
  • Review scripts, ads and outreach communications
  • Write reports, track vendor activities
  • Spot check the activation campaign
  • Ensure representation of IEBC attend NDI and activation events
  • Provide weekly updates and undertake monitoring and evaluation
  • Write reports, memos and briefs
  • Management of databases
  • Facilitate meetings
  • Tracking progress against agreed work plans

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. A Post graduate degree will be an added advantage

Relevant Experience

At least 4years’ relevant experience working with civil society organizations involved in good governance, peace building and conflict management or any other relevant field.

Related Skills or Knowledge: Experienced with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with USAID regulations helpful. Detailed oriented and organized. Ability to prioritize, take direction, and handle varied tasks within deadlines. Strong communicator, both verbally and in writing. Collaborative, team oriented individual. Experience in civic and voter education, outreach and communications is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: English required. Proficiency in Kiswahili required.

TRAVEL: Travel may be required, up to 30%
